Elsewhere on this web
site the case has been made that every Christian
believer is called both to lifelong discipleship and to
full-time ministry of God's grace, mercy, love and
truth. In every situation in which they find
themselves. A great many Christians do not,
however, live this way. There are at least three
common reasons why this may be so, which are represented
in the diagram below. Simply put, people act when
they are able
to, when they are motivated to and when they are allowed to. This is as true of Christian living as it is
of anything else. Thus the size of the ‘do’
segment is governed by the overlap of the three circles
labelled ‘allowed’, ‘able’ and ‘willing’.
